Tingvall Trio - Live UK Debut
In a few short years the Tingvall Trio has become known as one of the top young European Jazz ensembles, winning the prestigious German ECHO Jazz award twice (2010 and 2012) as “Best German Jazz Ensemble”. They are one of a series of piano trios following in the footsteps of the legendary e.s.t. using breathtaking ensemble work and beautiful melodies to bridge the gap between jazz and pop.
The trio have made countless appearances in cities across the world, as well as at renowned festivals in Berlin, Stockholm and Warsaw and at South Africa’s major concert halls in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Pretoria. Following their “German Ensemble of the year” accolade at April 2012’s ECHO Jazz awards ceremony in Germany, the trio are finally set to perform their first London concert at the legendary Pizza Express Jazz Club in Soho. This is a great chance to see an act recently announced as one of the five nominees for the ECHO Jazz (the German equivalent of the BRIT Awards) in the category “Best Live Act Of The Year”, the other nominees being Pat Metheny, Robert Glasper, Vijay Iyer and Trombone Shorty.
