Jobs
Air is always looking for hard working interns with a desire to have a career in the music industry. An interest in jazz is an advantage although not essential.
The internship would ideally be for 6 months and is unpaid although we do cover travel expenses. All previous interns at Air have gone onto full time employment either within the company or within the music industry. The successful applicant needs to be very confident with computer-based admin and comfortable making telephone calls. You will be involved in a number of projects and there are plenty of gigs to attend. This is a great way to learn about the PR and music industry.
As part of my University course, I undertook a one year internship at Air working in the Press department. It was a fantastic learning experience as I was given a lot of responsibility right from the start. I worked with some high profile events and artists from the BBC Jazz Awards and The Cheltenham Jazz Festival to Acoustic Ladyland and Kyle Eastwood! The team I worked with were great and it was a good insight into how the industry works on the whole. Post graduation, I'm now about to start my new job this summer working in music PR working with Prince (!) and the grounding experience I gained at Air has been invaluable to my career.Melissa Ng
I came to work at Air as part of a study abroad program through my U.S. university. I worked at Air for about six weeks, and it is honestly my favorite internship out of the many I completed. I worked in the media department, and was thrown head on into the jazz music industry, something I had never experienced before but quickly came to love. In my short time with Air, I worked on high profile events, such as the BBC Jazz Awards, and assisted wherever needed, including working backstage at a few Jamie Cullum shows in London. Since my graduation in 2005, I have been a publicist with authors, beauty queens and musicians, and in 2007 moved to Los Angeles to further my career in entertainment publicity. Air gave me the knowledge of what publicity really is and the confidence to continue it as a career, as well as great friends that I will never forget.Leia Vincent
