Chihiro has performed with Nancy Wilson, George Benson and George Russell, Clark Terry, Gary Burton, Ed Thigpen, Curtis Fuller and Herbie Hancock. She also won the IAJE Sisters In Jazz Competition and Downbeat Magazine's Outstanding Award while she was still a student in Berklee College of Music.

Chihiro’s first three albums - released on Japan's prestigious Sawano Kobo label - all topped the jazz charts in Japan, with her third album reaching the Top 10 of the pop charts. Her first major tour of Japan in 2003 was featured in documentary that went out on Japanese television and proved very popular, raising her profile significantly in the region. The DVD of this tour also charted in the Top 10 on the pop charts.

After a very fruitful relationship with Sawano Kobo, Chihiro moved to Universal Music in January 2005 on a deal that would see her music released by the historic Verve label. 'Outside By The Swing' was released in September that year, with Robert Hurst on bass and Jeff “Tain” Watts on drums. To support the album, she performed at major venues in the United States, including the Kennedy Center in Washington and the Carnegie Hall. She also played at the Vienna State Opera House, in the JVC Jazz Festival in New York, the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival in Idaho, the Tokyo Jazz Festival and the Umbria Jazz Festival.

Her latest album “Lach Doch Mal” features original tracks full of haunting melodies as well as her own unique interpretations of standards.
