Behind the Curtain- an intern's perspective

As a college student who just finished her freshman year, I was not expecting my summer internship to be very involved or challenging. I came to work for Air Tours in May, but it feels like I have been working here for much longer. The first week I was helping draw up contracts, calling venues, and sending out promotional material. In my short time here, I have learned everything about what happens behind the curtain of the concerts I have been attending since I was thirteen. Everyone on the team is very friendly, and I use the term “team” because we all work together.

Tim Garland's Northern Underground Orchestra - LIVE ON TOUR!

6 dates down, 8 to go and Tim's tour is going down a storm! I've only made it up to the Lowton Civic Hall so far but I can't wait to see them again.

It's really nice when you put so much work into something to see it all come together (without any problems!). I've been speaking to the guys on the phone for months now, helping Bethan to organise everything, so actually meeting them in the flesh and seeing how talented they all are is amazing! It makes all the hard work worthwhile.

Life on the inside - an intern's story

I've been working for Air in the tours department since July. I'm "only" an intern although you wouldn't be able to tell. I've been chucked in at the deep end helping Bethan (Head of Tours) making calls to promoters, looking after the accounts and helping in general day to day running of the company. One thing I definitely haven't been doing is photocopying. In all honesty, I've been given much more responsibility than I thought I would be and it's great. I've felt like part of the team from day one as everyone is really friendly.
