I'm a complete Airhead!
People have hinted at this before numerous times but now, it’s official. The good news though, is that here at Air, the whole team are on the same level- we’re all Airheads and most of us, musicians. Airheads it seems, that exude positive vibes and a good attitude – not like a lot of places I’ve worked. I mean, who gets a Christmas present after just 2 hours into a new job? (And then gets water thrown over them). I’ve noticed that there is a great balance of personalities at Air- just listen to everyone’s i-pod playlists: You’ve got Gary’s drenched-in-melted-cheese pop/dance, Sheela’s uplifting sing-in-the-shower 80s anthems, Joe’s mature piano-tinged indie/rock, Marc’s Radiohead and er, more Radiohead, T-J’s not-quite-right ukulele covers, John’s Intelligent Dance Music and Creedence, Jonny’s I-ain’t-going-ta-bed-yet punk/rock and Bethan’s I’m not-telling-you-what-I-listen-to esoteric mix. As for mine? In time …
Having spoken to a few clients and journalists over the last couple of weeks I have noticed that there is a lot of respect for the people in the office and the work that comes out of it, which I hope I can add to. On hearing I had got the job, Jamie C said “Yeah? Cool. I’ve just been nominated for a Golden Globe”. So... we’re both moving up in the world. I’m looking forward to giving musicians the publicity they deserve and, maybe, one day, having a jam with the office band- Marc and the Complete Airheads.
