Gary Kett reporting live from LA

So we arrive in LA, feeling all fresh from our BA flight and collect our hire car, a nice convertible Pontiac G6 or something or other. Bit of a horrible colour but the absence of a roof was definately a necessity. Marc is driving, I am map reading. Actually that is a lie, we had sat-nav (which incidentally has a much sexier voice than the one's back home where the woman sounds like she would rather be anywhere other than stuck in the car with you!) I digress. Anyway, we are driving along, looking cool when suddenly we get rammed off the road by a pizza boy! the car skids sideways and we get showered by glass, car was completely trashed, I mean seriously. I know what you are thinking, how does a spotty under nourished pizza boy on a moped ram a car off the road. Well let me tell you, in LA it seems pizza boys have dropped the moped complete with plastic box at the back in favour of the GMC monster truck. Whether they need to transport 2000 pizza's at a time, or the moped just couldn't handle the rural terrain of Los Angeles I dont know. So within half an hour of getting our car (which had less than a thousand miles on the clock), it was headed for the scrap heap to be turned into beaked bean tins or manhole covers. But Marc and I were fine, escaped unscathed. On the plus side the replacement car was a much nicer colour and had leather seats.
