Russia
One of the fantastic aspects of my job is getting to travel with the bands. Not only is this exciting because I get to go to countries I have never visited before, but also because I get to see the end product of my work and see the other side of things. I think this helps me plan tours more effectively and understand my musicians' needs.
Last week I had the pleasure of going to Russia with Anita and her band. It was for a corporate event and we were only there for about 24 hours which in itself was an interesting experience. We got fed more food than even a big band could eat- and loads of meat! I think they were obsessed. There was also a big bear skin on the grass and apples scattered around randomly. I think this might have been some arty thing I didn't get...
We were also lucky enough to be over there with Vincent Herring. I’ve never heard him play and it was an extra treat. The team who looked after us were fantastic and we are hoping to work with them again in future. I think Anita did the Brits proud- she looked stunning in her beautiful dress with the fancy back- and she sounded great. I have learnt a good few lessons about sending bands out for corporate events.
And I also know I really want to go back to Russia to see it properly!
