After her sold out gig at the Luminaire last October Kaki returns to the UK with two dates in February 2008

NEW: 16th February 2008 @ Roundhouse, London

Over the last few years, Kaki King has enjoyed well-earned status as the zeit-girl of instrumental acoustic guitar; a gifted young ingenue closing ranks on the canonized heroes of the genre. A case in point – she was one of only 20 guitarists named as Rolling Stone’s ‘New Gods of Guitar’, is this month’s MOJO RISING focus (Feb issue – see attached) and was one of the highlights in last season’s Later ... With Jools Holland on BBC 2 show.

A recent, very vocal supporter has been Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters. The Foo’s recent album 'Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace' features an instrumental guitar duet between King and Grohl called 'Ballad of the Beaconsfield Miners'. In an interview with Billboard, he had this to say of it - "I showed it to her once and she shredded it 10 times better than I've ever played it." King has since been personally invited to play with the Foo Fighters on their London, New York and two week tour in Australia.

Another fan is Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder who suggested to his friend Sean Penn that some music from Kaki King would work on the soundtrack for the Penn-directed “Into The Wild” (Paramount Vantage, 2007) which was recently nominated at this year’s Golden Globes Award.

Produced by John McEntire (Tortoise, Stereolab), c urrent album "Until We Felt Red" ventures into new territory with a degree of self-assurance that borders on irreverence – another Kaki King hallmark. Distorted pedal steel, pounding drums (also played by Kaki) , ethereal trumpet, dots, loops, bleeps and other indefinable percussion sounds, and her own voice; a disarmingly winsome and sweet combination for a woman with this much attitude.

The new album “Dreaming Of Revenge”, produced by Daniel Lanois protégé Malcom Burn, will be released in the Spring of 2008.
